Peer Review Process
JISHRA: Journal of Islamic Shariah and Research Applications implements a transparent, objective, and professional peer review process to ensure the scientific quality of every published article. The review process consists of the following stages:
1. Manuscript Submission
Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system.
The editor conducts an initial assessment to ensure that the manuscript aligns with the journal’s focus and scope.
2. Initial Screening
The manuscript is evaluated for:
-
Originality and freedom from plagiarism
-
Compliance with the Author Guidelines
-
Relevance to the focus and scope of JISHRA
Manuscripts that do not meet these basic criteria will be returned to the authors.
3. Peer Review Process
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two expert reviewers in the fields of Islamic Law or Islamic Economics.
The review process follows a double-blind peer review system, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
-
Quality and originality of the research
-
Appropriateness of the methodology
-
Analysis and interpretation of data
-
Novelty and contribution to the field
-
Quality of writing and references
4. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted without revision – rare and usually applied to manuscripts of exceptional quality
-
Accepted with minor revision – authors are required to make minor improvements
-
Accepted with major revision – substantial revisions are required before acceptance
-
Rejected – the manuscript does not meet the journal’s academic standards or scope
5. Revision and Re-evaluation
Authors must submit revised manuscripts according to the reviewers’ comments within the specified timeframe.
The revised manuscript may be re-evaluated by the editor and/or reviewers.
6. Publication
Once the manuscript is accepted, the article will be processed for online publication in JISHRA.
All published articles are released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, ensuring open access and free citation with proper attribution.
